Zebra Mussels and Asian Clams
Students are investigating the unique characteristics of the introduced Zebra Mussel, Dreissena polymorpha, and Asian Clam Carbicula Fluminea, in freshwater ecosystems and how they have affected the indigenous populations of organisms in Kentucky streams. They are also investigating the effects of the mussels on human activities and how to control the spread of the Zebra Mussel and Asian Clam.
